Sylvia Earle

Education- She won a scholarship to Florida State and Duke University. Environmental issues- She was a under sea explorer, and she was a marine conservationist. She wants to makes sure the ocean and its creatures are around for years to come. Challenges- Sylvia's family was too poor to afford college for her, but she was lucky enough to earn scolarships. Later in life she also struggled to balance the demands of her family,with scientific expeditions that took her all over the world. Early Interests- She liked learning all she could about wildlife , the gulf and its coast. Reasons needed- She loves fish and nature, and always wants to find a way to help nature and all its aspects. Steps Taken- Sylvia dove deeper in the ocean then most others who attempted. She also won awards, and received several degrees in differnt studies. Sylvia Earle Birth Place- She was born in Gibbstown, New Jersey. Benefits- She preserved marine life, and received opportunities to do things with National Science clubs. Birth date- She was Born August 30, 1935, and today she is 73 and is still alive. Honors- She won: The Conservation service Award (California Academy of sciences.)1979, Lowell Thomas Award 1980(Explorers Club), David B. Stone medal(New England Aquarium)1989.
